PlayJumpEat

Yes, so much has happened since 2008. My initial blog post here was referring to this project that has actually been actualized in Cape Town, South Africa during 2010. Some of my initial experiments with photography with Paige Green in Petaluma, CA helped start get the momentum going & the ball rolling into some tangible evidence. (thank you, Paige!).

But, when I landed on S. African soil, I began working heavily, aka: DOVE IN headfirst! with Inge Prins, & then later with Antonia Steyn, Charley Pollard, & my lovely academic & photography-loving husband, Saul Wainwright.

See more on the project from the video

This project has been the LOVE OF MY LIFE!, & is really, I think, just the tip of the iceberg.
Thank you Everyone in Cape Town. Deep Love.

Marla Olmstead - my latest hero

I am completely in love with Marla Olmstead.
aw...she is soo sweet!
I Love her!...
I just watched the documentary on her, & all the flack her family took in re: to the authenticity of her paintings.
It's so obvious to me, the purity in her paintings.
I am a harsh critic when it comes to art, period.
And, these paintings are gorgeous.
I love them.
I love her.
I am inspired.
And, I just want to give a hand to her parents for obviously looking out for her best interests.
I know they've had a hard time, but their best intents seem clear.
And, it appears as though, despite her "fame", she's still able & encouraged to be a kid!...a gorgeous, beautiful kid at that!
Props to Zane (the brother) too.
also awesome.

Saul Wainwright's Photography

I feel inspired to share some of my husband's photography.
This was taken in Cape Town, S. Africa, where we've spent our past 2 winters (3 & 4 months respectively), living on the beach.
This was taken on Clifton beach, at an event known as: Moonstruck.
He may not think it's the best photo he's ever taken, but I love it.
I think it's magical.
