Marla Olmstead - my latest hero
I am completely in love with Marla Olmstead.
aw...she is soo sweet!
I Love her!...
I just watched the documentary on her, & all the flack her family took in re: to the authenticity of her paintings.
It's so obvious to me, the purity in her paintings.
I am a harsh critic when it comes to art, period.
And, these paintings are gorgeous.
I love them.
I love her.
I am inspired.
And, I just want to give a hand to her parents for obviously looking out for her best interests.
I know they've had a hard time, but their best intents seem clear.
And, it appears as though, despite her "fame", she's still able & encouraged to be a kid!...a gorgeous, beautiful kid at that!
Props to Zane (the brother) too.
also awesome.

Saul Wainwright's Photography
I feel inspired to share some of my husband's photography.
This was taken in Cape Town, S. Africa, where we've spent our past 2 winters (3 & 4 months respectively), living on the beach.
This was taken on Clifton beach, at an event known as: Moonstruck.
He may not think it's the best photo he's ever taken, but I love it.
I think it's magical.

Paige Green Photography
I feel so inspired to share my inspirations.
I Love Paige's work.
Here's a recent photo, so close to my own heart.
You will see more photos in fields, as I fantasize about this ALL THE TIME!
(several images already in my head!)...
& 3 Festivals I Must Go To In This Lifetime:
In respective order:
The Holi Festival, in India. To quote holifestival.org:
he colorful festival of Holi is celebrated on Phalgun Purnima which comes in February end or early March. Holi festival has an ancient origin and celebrates the triumph of 'good' over 'bad'. The colorful festival bridges the social gap and renew sweet relationships. On this day, people hug and wish each other 'Happy Holi'.
Festival in the Desert, in Mali:
Get there by camel.
La Tomatina, in Italy:

FOOD AS ART Installation - well done!
I am way inspired by this lady, Marije Vogelzang:
She makes art out of food.

Salami
well done!
My dream project
I am starting this blog on Saturday, May 24, 2008.
I have recently had an epiphany re: my "lifelong", dream project.
There will be retired, cantonese-speaking chinese women jumping on beds, there will be suburban moms jumping on bouncy balls, there will be cowboys sitting at a banquet table in middle of their ranch...
& I will document it all.
Much more to come.
Looking forward to 'blogging' with you!
